Vice President J.D. Vance has made a striking revelation: the US government often overlooks fraud cases below $1.5 million, but he is vowing to target major offenders.
“We do not prosecute fraud in this country if it’s under $1.5 million dollars per year,” Vance stated during an interview with YouTuber Benny Johnson.
Vance highlighted that a new task force has been established to ensure the Department of Justice actively investigates fraud, aiming to hold higher-level offenders accountable.
He also addressed incidents of fraud within Minnesota’s Somali immigrant community, implying that local officials might have either ignored or facilitated these fraudulent activities.

Vance stated that the initiative will include making necessary arrests and ensuring that large-scale fraud is thoroughly addressed.
His statements have sparked discussion due to their frank admission of enforcement practices and the political aspects of fraud cases.
