The founder of a white supremacist gang and accused killer, Brandon Gerner, allegedly engaged in a disturbing act of animal cruelty by slaughtering a horse named Lemon in a bizarre ritual. The purpose of this ritual was to allow his friend and accomplice, Kody Olsen, to ride the stallion “into Valhalla,” the mythological paradise for warriors, as reported by KATU-TV.

Gerner is currently standing trial for a double murder and first-degree animal cruelty. The double murder, which took place on November 16, 2023, is believed to have stemmed from a drug deal gone awry, resulting in the deaths of Robert Riley, 57, and Ashley Williams, 34. It is alleged that Gerner conspired with Olsen to carry out these killings.

Sadly, Olsen met his own demise about a month after the murders during a shootout with sheriff’s deputies in Pierce County, Washington. The deputies had attempted to stop Olsen on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Following Olsen’s death, Gerner performed the gruesome act of animal sacrifice by killing Lemon. This sacrifice was purportedly dedicated to the Norse god of death, Odin, and was intended to provide Olsen with a steed to ride into Valhalla. Lemon was shot point-blank and found dead in front of a stable, leaving the horse owner’s family devastated.

Karen Greer, Lemon’s owner, discovered the lifeless body of her beloved horse and expressed the trauma of finding him in such a gruesome manner.

Gerner, known for founding a white supremacist group while serving time for previous convictions, was arrested and charged with the double murder and animal sacrifice in February 2024. The bodies of Riley and Williams were found discarded under trash, with Williams having sustained over 20 stab wounds.

Gerner’s criminal history includes a lengthy prison sentence of approximately 22 years for offenses such as burglary, robbery, and assault. The details of these disturbing crimes paint a dark picture of the individuals involved and the heinous acts they perpetrated. In today’s fast-paced world, it is more important than ever to stay informed and up-to-date on the latest news and trends. With the rise of social media and 24-hour news cycles, information is constantly being disseminated at a rapid pace. This can be both a blessing and a curse, as it allows for quick access to information, but also makes it difficult to discern what is true and what is not.

One of the key challenges in today’s media landscape is the spread of fake news. Fake news is defined as false information that is deliberately spread to deceive or manipulate the public. It can take many forms, from fabricated stories to misleading headlines designed to attract clicks. The rise of fake news has had a significant impact on society, causing confusion, mistrust, and division among individuals.

So, how can we combat fake news and ensure that we are getting accurate information? One of the first steps is to be a critical consumer of news. This means not taking everything at face value and being skeptical of sources that are not reputable. It is important to fact-check information before sharing it with others, and to be wary of stories that seem too sensational or good to be true.

Another way to combat fake news is to support reputable news sources. By subscribing to newspapers or news websites that have a track record of providing accurate information, you are helping to ensure that quality journalism continues to thrive. It is also important to diversify your news sources and not rely on just one outlet for information. By seeking out multiple perspectives, you can get a more well-rounded view of the news.

In addition, it is crucial to educate others about the dangers of fake news. By sharing tips on how to spot fake news and encouraging others to be critical consumers of information, you can help to combat the spread of misinformation. It is also important to report fake news when you see it, whether that means flagging a post on social media or contacting the news outlet that published it.

Ultimately, combating fake news is a collective effort that requires vigilance, critical thinking, and a commitment to seeking out accurate information. By staying informed and supporting reputable news sources, we can work together to ensure that the truth prevails in today’s media landscape.
