On Thursday, Border Czar Tom Homan conveyed to that imminent criminal charges may be on the horizon for officials in sanctuary states and cities, following the arrest of two judges accused of harboring and concealing illegal aliens.
This development aligns with President Trump’s recent statements suggesting more aggressive measures in his battle against illegal immigration, which could include suspending the Writ of Habeas Corpus for illegal aliens. This would potentially circumvent judicial rulings perceived as obstacles to his border security initiatives.
According to 8 U.S. Code § 1324, penalties include imprisonment for those who “bring to or attempt to bring to,” “move or attempt to transport or move,” or “conceal, harbor, or shield from detection, or attempt to conceal, harbor, or shield from detection” illegal aliens. The severity of charges can increase if the alien’s actions result in injury or death, a not-uncommon scenario involving violent offenders. The sanctuary policies promoted by Democratic officials blatantly contravene federal law.
Previously, Homan has asserted to , “When they cross the line of harboring and concealing, thatâs a felony, and we have Pam Bondi now, who wonât hesitate to take action.”

Just about a week later, both a former New Mexico judge and a Milwaukee County judge were taken into custody for allegedly harboring and concealing illegal aliens. This act appears to serve as a stern warning to sanctuary officials whose policies and noncompliance with ICE are seen as obstructing justice.
In the wake of the arrest of Wisconsin Judge Hannah Dugan, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers (D) issued a memo on April 18 detailing explicit procedures for state employees to follow in order to obstruct ICE agentsâ access to government buildings.
During a press gaggle on Thursday, Homan urged observers to “wait and see whatâs coming” for Democratic officials like Tony Evers, who are accused of harboring and concealing illegal aliens.
“I meant what I said,” he emphasized. “You cannot support what we’re doing and endorse sanctuary cities at the same time. However, if you cross that line into obstruction or knowingly harbor illegal aliens, that is a felony, and we will treat it as such.“

Conradson: The President signed an executive order just this week threatening to defund sanctuary cities. Why not just arrest the leaders who are harboring and shielding illegal aliens, essentially terrorists, from deportation?
Homan: Wait until you see what’s coming.
Conradson: Your thoughts on the Wisconsin Governor sending directives to state agencies to not comply with ICE and actively impede your deportation efforts?
Homan: Wait until you see what’s coming. I meant what I said. You cannot support what we’re doing while simultaneously backing sanctuary cities. But if you cross that line into obstruction or knowingly harbor illegal aliens, that is a felony, and we will treat it as such.
