President Trump and FBI Director Kash Patel are set to hold a press conference in the Oval Office this afternoon.
The subject matter of this briefing remains somewhat ambiguous, but it comes in light of the Trump Administration’s stated intentions to scrutinize and act against the allegedly violent leftist organization, Antifa.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt recently confirmed to The Gateway Pundit that the Administration is conducting an “aggressive” investigation into George Soros and other far-left organizations purportedly funding Antifa’s activities and unrest in areas like Portland and Chicago.
Leavitt reported that the efforts involve the FBI, Homeland Security, and the Treasury Department, all investigating the financial networks backing these groups.
During a recent roundtable with President Trump, Attorney General Pam Bondi, Director Patel, and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem characterized Antifa as a “terrorist organization,” pledging to dismantle it.
Patel stated, “They represent an organized, systemic, international criminal enterprise. The FBI’s mandate is to trace the money, follow the funds, and identify every individual involved in financing the riots and the violent actions disturbing our communities,” as shared in a White House video.
This week, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent also announced that federal authorities, including the Treasury and IRS, are focused on “following the money” behind the networks supporting ANTIFA-linked groups and other entities implicated in coordinated domestic violence.
It remains uncertain whether the press conference will solely focus on Antifa or also address other pertinent topics.
The conference is slated to begin at 3 pm ET.
