President Trump is set to address the nation from the Oval Office this afternoon, with a focus on improving access to in vitro fertilization (IVF).

As previously reported by The Gateway Pundit, Trump took notable steps in February by signing an executive order designed to broaden access to IVF while also aiming to lower the financial burden associated with it.

In a move that seems to echo the accessibility efforts of vision and dental coverage, Trump is anticipated to announce a new initiative encouraging employers to offer IVF as part of their employee benefits.

According to the New York Times:

The White House plans to provide guidelines aimed at incentivizing employers to include IVF and broader infertility coverage in their benefit packages. One insider noted that this would be similar to how employers currently handle vision or dental insurance.

However, uncertainty looms over whether this guidance will significantly change employers’ stances on providing such benefits. With IVF costs hovering around $15,000 to $20,000 per cycle, the lack of subsidies from the White House might deter participation.

This initiative emerges after extensive discussions regarding IVF within the administration, highlighting ongoing tensions between various factions of Trump’s base. Since assuming office, the president has engaged in dialogue with IVF advocates, alongside serious discussions with Christian conservatives who maintain stringent moral reservations about practices like embryo discarding.

In addition to addressing IVF, the President is expected to respond to questions from journalists covering a range of topics, including his recent conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, which took place earlier today.

This comes against the backdrop of Trump’s remarks about possibly supplying Ukraine with Tomahawk missiles through NATO, further complicating the geopolitical narrative.

The announcement and subsequent press conference are earmarked for 3 PM ET.
