Taylor Sheridan’s popular series Landman has been confirmed for a third season — but the question remains: when will it air?

Director Stephen Kay offered some insight on the series’ return, sharing with The Hollywood Reporter that the team’s approach involves “cutting while we’re shooting,” which could mean the show will be back soon.

By integrating two phases of the development process, the creators aim to reduce the gap between seasons. This strategy suggests a potential release in late 2026 or early 2027.

Drawing inspiration from the “Boomtown” podcast series, Landman explores the West Texas oil industry, focusing on crisis executive Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton) and his family. Season 2, which debuted in October 2025, broke records on Paramount+ by amassing over 9.2 million views for its premiere episode within the first two days, surpassing the first season’s launch and becoming the most-watched debut of any original series on the platform.

Taylor Sheridan‘s hit series Landman was renewed for season 3 — but which stars are and aren’t returning after that shocking firing? Inspired by the “Boomtown” podcast series, Landman is focused on the West Texas oil industry with a specific focus on crisis executive Tommy Norris and his family. The Paramount+ show, which premiered in […]

In the season 2 finale, aired in January, Cooper (Jacob Lofland) encouraged Ariana (Paulina Chávez) to report her sexual assault to the police. This led to Cooper being questioned when the attacker died of a heart attack after being hospitalized.

When Tommy learned of the situation, he ensured his son was not wrongfully charged. With Rebecca (Kayla Wallace)’s help, Tommy prevented Cooper’s arrest.

After being dismissed by Cami (Demi Moore), Tommy started his own oil company, bringing his former colleagues and family on board, including Cooper, Ariana, Rebecca, Dale (James Jordan), T.L. (Sam Elliott), Nathan (Colm Feore), Boss (Mustafa Speaks), King (Dougie Hall), and Cheyenne (Francesca Xuereb).

Before launching his company, Tommy secured funding from Gallino (Andy Garcia) after previously questioning his ties to a drug cartel. Meanwhile, Ainsley (Michelle Randolph) faced challenges with her college cheerleading team and reconciled with her former roommate, deciding to move back in with her by the end of the finale.

Taylor Sheridan‘s Landman introduced some shocking twists and turns — but where would season 3 go after Demi Moore‘s Cami fired Billy Bob Thornton‘s character Tommy? Landman, which premiered in November 2024, is Sheridan’s newest hit series, joining the ranks of Yellowstone, Mayor of Kingstown, Tulsa King, Lawmen: Bass Reeves and Lioness. Based on the […]

Known for its dramatic storylines, Sheridan’s Paramount+ series frequently surprises its audience. Before the season 2 finale, Randolph, 28, discussed the mixed responses her characters received in Sheridan’s 1923 and Landman, noting both criticism and praise.

“It’s all of the above. I’ve had to stop letting myself get defensive over my character because when you spend so much time in someone else’s head space, you start to understand their logic,” she explained in Interview Magazine. “For Ainsley [on Landman], I couldn’t be more different than her, but I also adore her. I like to say she’s not dumb, she just has limited life experience, and we’re seeing her in her most formative years.”

Randolph appreciated the challenge, adding, “How lucky to play a character who is continually evolving. It’s challenged me in a lot of ways — what is on the page is so different than what you see on screen. I’ve tried to add in how genuine and sincere she is so there are more redeeming qualities.”

Landman is currently streaming on Paramount+.
