Samsung phone users are eagerly anticipating the arrival of the One UI 7 update, which promises many improvements and new features. However, the update rollout can be a bit of a waiting game, depending on the specific Galaxy phone or tablet you own.
The initial release of One UI 7 was with the Galaxy S25 series on 22 January 2025. Since then, Samsung has been busy working on releasing three beta versions of the system for other devices like the Galaxy S24 series, Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, Galaxy S23 series, Tab S10 series, and A55.
The good news is that an official stable update for older Galaxy devices is set to roll out globally on 7 April, starting in Korea and then gradually reaching other markets in the subsequent days and weeks. Samsung US has confirmed that the update will start rolling out to users from 10 April, beginning with the Galaxy S24 series, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6, before moving on to more Galaxy smartphones and tablets.
While flagship models like the Galaxy S21 series, S22 series, Z Fold 4, Flip 4, Fold 3, and Flip 3 are eligible for the One UI 7 update, they might experience a slight delay compared to newer models. Samsung’s mid-range and budget-friendly devices may also receive the update at a later date, as Samsung typically prioritizes its flagship lineups before extending updates to other models.
According to Android and Samsung specialist Tarun Vats, we can expect the following devices to receive the update in April, May, and June:
– April: Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, Tab S10+/Ultra, S23 series, S24 FE.
– May: Z Fold 4/Flip 4/3, S23 FE, A34, A35, S22/S21 series, Tab S9/S8 series, A16, Quantum 4.
– June: Tab S9 FE, A53, A33, A25, A24, A15, Quantum 3, Jump 2/3, Buddy 3, Tab A9/A9+, Tab Active 4/5, Wide 7.
In terms of device eligibility, any Galaxy phone or tablet that launched with Android 13 is expected to receive Android 15 (One UI 7), as Samsung guarantees at least two major OS upgrades for most of its Android devices. Flagship and mid-range models qualifying for four years of OS updates will also be included in the One UI 7 rollout, as they were released with Android 11 or later.
Samsung has released the official list of Galaxy devices that will receive the One UI 7 update, including the Galaxy S series, Z series, and Tab series. While the list may vary by region, it’s important to note that devices like the Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy S21 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy Tab S9 FE series, Galaxy Tab S8 series, and Galaxy Tab S6 Lite are likely to receive the update as well.
Additionally, other Galaxy devices like those in the A series, M series, and F series are expected to receive the One UI 7 update, although the final release schedule may vary depending on regional testing, software stability, and specific device requirements. Samsung users can look forward to enjoying the new features and enhancements that come with the One UI 7 update once it becomes available for their devices.
