Russian Disinformation Impacting AI Chatbot Accuracy

Russian propaganda about its invasion of Ukraine is affecting AI chatbot accuracy

Artificial intelligence chatbots are facing challenges in delivering accurate information regarding Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. In some instances, these AI chatbots are unintentionally spreading Kremlin propaganda, with Google’s Gemini chatbot being particularly affected.

According to Elizaveta Kuznetsova from the Weizenbaum Institute in Germany, users are increasingly relying on chatbots for information. The way in which these chatbots present details about current events, such as the conflict in Ukraine, can significantly influence public opinion and perceptions of critical global events.
