In 2024, the sports world was abuzz with the question of which front office reigned supreme. According to a poll conducted by The Athletic, the top three front offices across the major sports leagues were the Oklahoma City Thunder, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Baltimore Ravens.

Leading the pack was the Oklahoma City Thunder, with an impressive total of 354 points and 29 first-place votes. Led by General Manager Sam Presti, the Thunder’s front office was lauded for their ability to balance title contention with extreme flexibility for the future. Their strategic move to acquire Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and a plethora of draft picks set the stage for long-term success. With a deep roster and a treasure trove of draft assets, the Thunder were seen as a powerhouse in the making.

Coming in second was the Los Angeles Dodgers, with 284 points and 19 first-place votes. Under the leadership of President of Baseball Operations Andrew Friedman, the Dodgers had established themselves as a perennial contender in Major League Baseball. Their savvy roster moves, including acquisitions like Mookie Betts and Shohei Ohtani, have propelled them to two World Series titles in recent years.

Rounding out the top three was the Baltimore Ravens, with 259 points and 15 first-place votes. General Manager Eric DeCosta took over from the legendary Ozzie Newsome and continued the team’s winning tradition. With a keen eye for talent and a focus on building a winning culture, DeCosta guided the Ravens to multiple playoff appearances and a strong roster.

Other notable front offices included the Tampa Bay Rays, Dallas Stars, Boston Celtics, and Kansas City Chiefs, all of whom received recognition for their success in their respective sports. Each team was praised for their strategic decision-making, roster building, and ability to consistently compete at a high level.

As the sports landscape continues to evolve, these top front offices will undoubtedly play a crucial role in shaping the future of their respective leagues.
