Whoopi Goldberg has made it abundantly clear on “The View” that the show has not been stifled regarding discussions around Jimmy Kimmel‘s recent suspension.
“Did you really believe we wouldn’t discuss Jimmy Kimmel? Have you seen our show for the past 29 seasons? Silencing us is not an option,” Goldberg declared at the outset of Monday’s broadcast, addressing speculation following ABC’s decision to suspend “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” the previous week.

After the news of the suspension broke, many speculated that “The View” had decided to keep quiet about it. Goldberg clarified their approach, stating, “When the announcement regarding Jimmy Kimmel’s suspension emerged, we paused to assess if Jimmy would address it first.” She noted that this method was similar to their approach when CBS hinted at cutting “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.”
