When it comes to reviewing phones, the software can make or break the overall experience. Having tested numerous smartphones running Android 15, the difference in software design and performance across various brands is evident. Software that is thoughtfully designed can greatly enhance productivity and user enjoyment while using a phone. Among the many brands offering slick user interfaces with a plethora of features, two stand out – Google and Samsung.

Both Pixel and Galaxy phones offer a polished and intuitive user interface that enhances user experience. While Google Pixel phones were previously considered the superior choice, the introduction of One UI 7 on the Galaxy S25+ has changed the game entirely.

Here are four reasons why One UI 7 offers a better overall experience compared to Pixel UI:

1. A Home Screen to Be Proud Of:
The visual aesthetics of One UI 7 surpass those of Pixel UI, especially in terms of widgets and app labels. Samsung’s design allows for a cleaner and more visually appealing home screen compared to Google’s approach.

2. Setting Me Up for Success:
The quick settings menu on One UI 7 is more user-friendly and accessible compared to Google’s interface, making toggling settings a seamless experience on Samsung devices.

3. My Favorite-Ever Use of AI:
One UI 7 excels in utilizing AI to enhance user experience, particularly in the Settings search function. The AI-powered search in One UI 7 provides more relevant results compared to Pixel UI, making it easier to find specific settings.

4. Need a Cheap Phone?
Samsung’s approach of rolling out One UI 7 to all its handsets, including budget-friendly devices like the Galaxy A series, makes it a more accessible option compared to Google Pixel phones, which tend to focus on higher-end models.

However, it’s important to note that One UI 7 is not without its flaws. Samsung’s version of stock apps and potential bloatware may not appeal to users who prefer Google’s offerings. Additionally, Google prioritizes its hardware for software updates, which may mean quicker updates for Pixel phones compared to Samsung devices.

Ultimately, the choice between a Google Pixel phone and a Galaxy phone running One UI 7 comes down to personal preference. If timely updates are a priority, Pixel phones may be the better option. However, for users who value functionality and design flair, Samsung’s One UI 7 offers a compelling Android software experience that shouldn’t be overlooked. It’s clear that Samsung has come a long way from its TouchWiz days, establishing itself as a strong contender in the Android software space.
