A violent biker brawl between the Pagan’s and Hell’s Angels gangs on Long Island has resulted in a significant felony case. The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office recently announced that five members of the Pagan’s Motorcycle Club and the Demons of Hell MC, a subset of the Hell’s Angels, have been indicted on gang-assault and other violent charges for their involvement in the brutal fight that took place in West Islip and Lindenhurst in September. The altercation left four individuals stabbed, others beaten with hammers and baseball bats, and several requiring emergency surgery.

According to Suffolk DA Ray Tierney, the confrontation began when members of the Hell’s Angels crashed a memorial service for a Pagan’s member, sparking chaos and violence that endangered the community. Christopher Clarke, 21, and Roger Clarke, 53, both alleged members of the Demons of Hell, were accused of stabbing and beating a rival Pagan’s member with a hammer, causing severe injuries that necessitated emergency medical treatment. Roger also allegedly stabbed another Pagan’s member as he tried to flee, causing serious internal injuries.

On the opposing side, Joseph Bivona, 46, Michael Baffa, 57, and Robert Miller, 54, alleged members of the Pagan’s Motorcycle Club, were accused of collectively assaulting a 76-year-old rival with baseball bats and other weapons, resulting in a brain injury that required multiple surgeries. The violent clash began at 1683 Sports Bar & Grille in West Islip before escalating to the Phillips 66 gas station in Lindenhurst, where the confrontation intensified.

Initially categorized as a civil disturbance, the brawl involved at least 15 bikers regrouping at the gas station off Sunrise Highway, leading to a full-blown melee. While seven individuals were initially charged with rioting, a thorough investigation over five months provided a clearer understanding of the events that transpired.

All five suspects were arraigned and are currently held on bails ranging from $250,000 to $750,000. DA Tierney emphasized a zero-tolerance approach to gang violence, stating that such behavior will not be tolerated. The crackdown on gangs will continue to ensure the safety and security of the community.
