The enchanting world of childhood memories comes alive in the intricate miniature creations of William Mophos. Hailing from São Paulo, Brazil, this talented artist uses salvaged bricks, cracked tiles, and other architectural remnants as his canvas to depict scenes of youthful playfulness. From a toddler sipping water from a hose to a child walking a dog, Mophos’ mixed-media dioramas capture the essence of innocence and wonder.

The series titled “Colossal” is a testament to Mophos’ artistic evolution over the past five years. Each piece exudes a sense of nostalgia, invoking a yearning for simpler times filled with exploration and creativity. Combining photorealistic acrylic paintings with sculptural elements like tiny flip-flops and miniature props, Mophos creates a captivating visual narrative that tugs at the heartstrings.

One of the standout pieces from the series is “Estou Voando…” (2023), a mesmerizing acrylic painting on a fragmented blue and white tile. The artwork portrays a child being lifted into the air, capturing a moment of pure joy and freedom. Another notable piece is “Quintal da Vovó” (2025), which features a child drinking from a green hose against a backdrop of everyday life in a Brazilian household.

Mophos’ attention to detail is evident in every artwork, whether it’s a plant growing from a concrete fragment or a child playing with a dog sculpture. The use of mixed materials and acrylic domes adds depth and dimension to each piece, creating a sense of whimsy and nostalgia.
