Rosie O’Donnell’s Departure: A New Chapter in Ireland

Rosie O’Donnell has officially acted on her long-standing vow to leave the United States, embarking on a journey that has led her to Ireland.

In a candid TikTok update, O’Donnell shared that she relocated with her 12-year-old child, expressing her commitment to their well-being. “I never thought I would move to another country, but I believe it’s what’s best for my child and me. And here we are,” she stated.

While O’Donnell embraces her new life, she admits to missing her other children and friends back home, revealing a bittersweet sense of nostalgia. “I miss many things about life in America, and I’m working on finding a home here in this beautiful country. We’ll reconsider returning when all citizens in America can enjoy equal rights,” she added.

Critique of the Media and Calls for Action

O’Donnell didn’t shy away from criticizing mainstream media, accusing it of failing to hold former President Trump accountable. She encouraged Americans to rise against what she perceives as a diminishing commitment to democratic principles. “The mainstream media has let us down. The fourth estate is essential for a democracy, and they haven’t upheld their responsibilities,” she lamented.

Her rallying cry urged citizens to actively participate in the democratic process: “I encourage everyone to stand up, use their voice, protest, and demand that our country adheres to the Constitution, rather than a king or a man, and that we steer clear of cruelty in our governance,” O’Donnell asserted.

In her quest for a fresh start, O’Donnell is in the process of applying for Irish citizenship, a right she can claim through her ancestry as her grandparents were born in Ireland.

The 62-year-old says she left and dragged her 12-year-old daughter with her because not all Americans have equal rights now.

A Notable Trend in Celebrity Exodus

The feud between Trump and O’Donnell is one of the more infamous celebrity clashes, predating Trump’s political ambitions. Interestingly, she is not alone in her departure; several other Hollywood figures have opted to leave the U.S. following Trump’s second term election. Among them, Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, made headlines by relocating to the United Kingdom before Trump even took office.

In summary, O’Donnell’s move to Ireland not only symbolizes a personal choice for her family but also reflects a broader sentiment among certain factions of the American public. As debates about rights and governance continue to stir emotions, the question remains: how many others will join her in seeking solace beyond U.S. borders?
