President Donald Trump continued his criticism of the media on Saturday, particularly focusing on their coverage of his conflict with Iran. He shared a graphic on his Truth Social platform that highlighted his impact on freedom of the press in America.

The graphic boasted about the changes Trump has brought to the media landscape. It mentioned the departure of prominent pundits like Jim Acosta and Joy Reid, as well as layoffs at The Washington Post and defunding of outlets like NPR and PBS. It also celebrated the decline in television news ratings and claimed that “Late Show with Stephen Colbert” had been canceled.

Despite ongoing military operations in Iran that resulted in casualties, including 13 U.S. military service members and over 1,400 Iranians, Trump seemed more preoccupied with his ongoing feud with the media.

He shared the graphic shortly after attacking the “Fake News Media” on Truth Social, accusing outlets like The New York Times and Wall Street Journal of wanting the U.S. to lose the war.

The graphic also highlighted what Trump considered victories over the press, such as the success of Truth Social, increased accessibility of the President, and the end of certain practices at Disney.

The final section of the graphic simply stated “WINNING” and featured a TIME Magazine cover from November 2025 that declared Trump was winning the war against the media.

Despite the graphic’s content, journalist Jim Acosta was the only one mentioned to publicly respond, questioning Trump’s intentions.

Trump’s long-standing animosity towards journalists and his use of the term “fake news” as a blanket response to unfavorable coverage has been a recurring theme throughout his presidency.

Federal Communications Commission Chair Brendan Carr also weighed in on the issue, warning broadcasters running hoaxes and news distortions to correct their course before license renewals.

The article reflects Trump’s ongoing battle with the media and his efforts to shape the narrative in his favor.
