Woman Attacks Two People at Chinese Restaurant in Harlem Over Prices
On April 6, a woman in Harlem was caught on surveillance footage attacking two individuals at the Empire Chinese Restaurant after becoming enraged over the prices of the food. The incident took place on Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard near West 141st Street around 2:30 p.m., according to police and sources.
During the altercation, the woman hurled racist and anti-Asian remarks, telling the individuals to “go back to your country” and that “Asians can’t stay here,” as reported by law enforcement sources.
She proceeded to physically assault a 42-year-old woman, pulling her to the ground by her hair. The suspect then targeted a 48-year-old man, who was an employee at the restaurant, punching him in the head and face, resulting in a cut lip.
Although the victims sustained minor injuries, they both declined medical attention following the incident. The NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force has launched an investigation into the violent outburst.
