Tragedy struck on Monday night when a man poured flammable liquid on a woman and set her on fire during an argument aboard a Blue Line train in the Loop. The incident took place around 9:25 p.m. near Clark and Lake, 124 West Lake Street, according to Chicago police.

The 26-year-old woman engaged in a dispute with the man while on the train. In a shocking turn of events, the man poured a liquid on the woman’s head and set it ablaze. The offender then fled the scene when the train made a stop at Clark-Lake. Witnesses described him as a Black male, aged between 40 to 50 years old, standing at about 5’10” tall. He was said to have facial hair and was dressed in black clothing with a gray hoodie underneath.

Following the horrific attack, the woman collapsed at the station and sustained severe burns across her body. She was rushed to Stroger Hospital in critical condition for immediate medical attention.
