A shocking incident occurred at a homeless encampment in Los Angeles, where a woman’s body was discovered covered in dog bites. The gruesome discovery was made after a resident of the south LA encampment called the police late Wednesday night.

Upon receiving the call, officers from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department rushed to the scene on the 1100 block of West 87th Street around 11:40 p.m. The officers were met with a disturbing sight of a woman’s body with visible dog bites.

According to LASD Homicide Lt. Steven De Jong, it was unclear whether the woman had sustained the dog bites before or after her death. The woman, who remains unidentified, was determined to be in her 30s by the LA County Medical Examiner, who will conduct an investigation to determine the cause of death.

Authorities, including animal control and the LA County Fire Department, were present at the scene alongside the police officers who were seen putting up police tape. A brown puppy was also spotted at the scene and later seen being carried away by an officer.

This incident brings back memories of a similar tragedy that occurred in January when former NFL player Kevin Johnson was found murdered in a south LA encampment near Compton Creek. It was suspected that Johnson was a victim of a serial killer who had murdered three others in the same camp.

The investigation into the woman’s death continues as authorities work to uncover the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident. Meanwhile, the community remains shocked and saddened by the disturbing discovery at the homeless encampment in Los Angeles.
