Professional Wrestler Arrested for Felony Kidnapping and Assault After Victim Leaves Note in Sandwich Shop
A professional wrestler, Jordan Williams, also known as Jayden Steele in the ring, has been charged with felony kidnapping and assault after his alleged victim left a chilling note in a Florida sandwich shop begging for help. The incident unfolded at a Jersey Mike’s in Navarre, Florida, where a sandwich maker, Eleanor Coffee, discovered the crumpled note on the restroom floor.
The note, which was found just 20 minutes after it had been left, contained a plea for help and detailed the victim’s address in Navarre. It also included a request for a wellness check and a warning not to approach the house unless the victim’s car was in the driveway, as the perpetrator’s parents would alert him. The victim expressed a desperate desire to return home to her kids and family and begged for assistance.
Thanks to the information provided in the note, authorities were able to track down the alleged victim and connect the incident to Williams. Surveillance footage from the sandwich shop led investigators to Williams, who has a history of domestic violence, according to Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Randy Tifft.
Deputies found the victim at a residence associated with Williams, just two miles from the Jersey Mike’s where the note was discovered. The victim had visible injuries and was taken to the hospital for suspected broken bones and other trauma. She reported a prolonged period of abuse, including isolation, repeated assaults, and threats involving weapons.
The victim detailed three recent assaults, including instances where Williams allegedly held a knife to her throat, choked her, slammed her to the ground, and punched her in the face. She also revealed that Williams had threatened to kill her if she sought help, and her ex-husband had an active restraining order against him.
Williams made his first court appearance on May 29 and is currently being held without bond. He faces multiple domestic violence charges, including felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, felony kidnapping, felony battery, misdemeanor battery, and felony battery by strangulation. Williams has pleaded not guilty to all charges and is awaiting his arraignment on June 19.
Authorities emphasized the seriousness of the allegations against Williams, with Chief Deputy Tifft stating, “Anybody who would do that to another woman, he don’t need to be walking around free in our community.” The case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of recognizing and addressing domestic violence to ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals.
