X Introduces 4K Resolution Video Uploads for Select Creators
In a bid to enhance user engagement and prevent them from migrating to other platforms like YouTube or Vimeo, X has announced that select creators will now be able to upload videos in 4K resolution. This new feature is aimed at providing a more immersive viewing experience for users and will soon be available to all premium subscribers.
Previously, paying subscribers on X were limited to uploading 1080p videos up to 8GB in size and approximately three hours in length. However, with the introduction of 4K resolution uploads, there may be potential changes to the size limit for subscribers, offering them more flexibility in sharing their content.
Since the acquisition of X by Elon Musk, the platform has been focusing on encouraging users to create and share more video content. This move towards supporting 4K resolution uploads is part of X’s ongoing efforts to provide creators with the tools they need to showcase their content in the best possible quality.
In addition to the 4K resolution upload feature, X has also recently introduced a dedicated feed for vertical videos. This new feed includes a convenient shortcut on the home page of the platform’s mobile apps, catering to the growing popularity of vertical video content. By capitalizing on trends in video consumption and user behavior, X is positioning itself as a versatile platform that can adapt to the evolving needs of its user base.
