Xiaomi has made a big splash ahead of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona with the launch of several exciting gadgets. Among the new releases are a camera-centric flagship smartphone, an AirTag alternative, Xiaomi Watch 5 smartwatch, and an ultra-slim power bank.
The highlight of the lineup is the Xiaomi 17 Ultra smartphone, a result of Xiaomi’s partnership with renowned camera maker Leica. This collaboration has led to the incorporation of Leica lenses and filters into the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, offering users a unique photography experience. The smartphone boasts a 50-megapixel main sensor with an impressive 200-megapixel telephoto camera that allows for optical zoom between 3.2x and 4.3x. Additionally, it features a 50 MP ultrawide camera and a 6.9-inch Xiaomi HyperRGB OLED display.
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and comes with a large 6,000 mAh battery (6,800mAh in the Chinese version) that supports fast charging and wireless charging technologies. The special Leica edition of the phone celebrates 100 years of the camera company and features a durable aluminum-alloy body with a nickel-anodized finish.
In addition to the smartphone, Xiaomi introduced the Xiaomi 17 with a larger 6,330 mAh battery and a Photography Kit that enhances the camera capabilities of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. The Photography Kit Pro offers a leather finish, video recording button, detachable shutter button, and zoom control for a more immersive photography experience.
Apart from smartphones, Xiaomi unveiled the Electric Scooter 6 Ultra, a high-powered scooter with all-terrain tires and an advanced display. The company also introduced a Xiaomi tag, similar to Apple’s AirTag, and a slim power bank with wireless charging capabilities.
Furthermore, Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi Watch 5 smartwatch, featuring a long-lasting battery, AMOLED display, and health monitoring capabilities. The company also introduced the Redmi Buds 8 Pro earbuds with active noise cancellation and extended battery life.
These new devices are set to hit the markets in the EU and the UK, with pricing starting at €999 for the Xiaomi 17, €1,499 for the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, and €299.99 for the Xiaomi Watch 5. Xiaomi continues to push boundaries in innovation and technology, offering consumers a diverse range of cutting-edge products to enhance their digital lifestyles.
