Ian Bohen is making his return to the Taylor Sheridan universe, as the former star of “Yellowstone” has secured a series regular role in Season 3 of “Lioness”.
According to exclusive information from Variety, Bohen will be part of the third season of the military drama on Paramount+, with filming currently taking place at SGS Studios in Texas. It was confirmed on October 1 that “Lioness” has been renewed for a third season, almost a year after the premiere of Season 2.
Bohen will portray Grady, characterized as “a meticulous Delta Force operator and primary K9 handler with expertise in battlefield techniques.” He will join an impressive cast that includes Zoe Saldaña, Nicole Kidman, Morgan Freeman, Michael Kelly, Laysla De Oliveira, Genesis Rodriguez, Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Austin Hébert, Jonah Wharton, Thad Luckinbill, and Hannah Love Lanier.
This marks Bohen’s fourth collaboration with Sheridan, following his work in “Yellowstone” and Sheridan’s feature film “Wind River.” He also appeared in “Sicario: Day of the Soldado,” a project written by Sheridan. Bohen joins other frequent Sheridan collaborators like Annable, Garrett, Jordan, Hébert, and Luckinbill in the “Lioness” cast.
Bohen is best known for his role as the wrangler Ryan across the five seasons of “Yellowstone.” His television credits also include “Teen Wolf,” “Mad Men,” and “Chicago P.D..” On the film side, he has been in projects such as “The Dark Knight Rises,” “Wyatt Earp,” and “Pearl Harbor.” Moving forward, he will both executive produce and star in the upcoming series “To the Rescue,” an international collaboration being marketed at Mipcom by Zero Gravity.
Bohen is represented by Zero Gravity and attorney Jason Hendler.
Currently airing on Paramount+, “Lioness” is part of several projects from Sheridan. The prolific creator has the second season of the oil field drama “Landman” set to premiere in November, along with Season 4 of “Mayor of Kingstown” releasing this October. Season 3 of “Tulsa King” launched on September 21. Sheridan is also working on the “Yellowstone” spinoff titled “The Madison,” which is awaiting its release date, as well as the newest “Yellowstone” prequel, “1944,” and a Beth and Rip spinoff featuring Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser.
“Lioness” boasts an executive production team including Sheridan, David C. Glasser, Saldaña, Kidman, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Jill Wagner, David Lemanowicz, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Friedman, and Keith Cox. The series is produced by Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios, with distribution handled by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
