YouTube Recap Reveals All About Your 2025 Viewing Habits

YouTube has introduced a new feature called YouTube Recap, similar to Spotify’s year-end recap, that provides users with a breakdown of their viewing habits over the past year. This feature offers insights into users’ favorite channels, evolving viewing habits, and even attempts to label their personality type based on their viewing habits.

To access Your Recap, users can find it on the YouTube homepage or under the You tab on both mobile and desktop. The feature analyzes users’ watch history and creates up to 12 cards highlighting their favorite channels and interests. It also delves into users’ music preferences, showcasing their favorite artists, songs, and genres if they use YouTube as their primary music source.

However, there is a catch to using YouTube Recap. The feature relies on users’ watch history, so if users have disabled this tracking feature, they will not have any data for YouTube to analyze, and therefore will not receive a YouTube Recap.

For those who have opted in to have their viewing history tracked by YouTube, the YouTube Recap feature is currently rolling out to North American users and will be available to users worldwide later in the week. This feature provides users with a fun and insightful way to look back on their viewing habits and preferences over the past year, offering a unique perspective on their digital consumption.
