Cicero Man Sentenced to Six Years in Prison for Methamphetamine Possession
A Cicero man has been sentenced to six years in state prison after pleading guilty to drug delivery charges. William Lebron, 42, was accused of storing over 166 pounds of methamphetamine in garbage bags inside his garage. Judge Geary Kull handed down the sentence after Lebron entered his guilty plea to delivery of methamphetamine, as per court records.
The arrest came after Homeland Security Investigations agents and task force officers surveilled Lebron in September 2023. They observed him pulling up to the garage behind his Cicero home and removing a large black garbage bag from his car. Agents detained Lebron as he began walking back towards his vehicle, dropping the trash bag and exposing multiple gallon-sized bags filled with Methamphetamine.
Aside from the methamphetamine, Lebron was also found carrying a loaded 9-millimeter handgun holstered in his front waistband during the arrest. The armed violence charge associated with this was dropped as part of the plea agreement. A search of Lebron’s car revealed two more large black garbage bags filled with meth, totaling 166.4 pounds in 163 gallon bags.
While there is no published parole date for Lebron from the Illinois Department of Corrections, delivery of methamphetamine sentences in Illinois are typically served at 75%. With 891 days of credit earned during the pending case, Lebron is expected to serve around two more years in prison. Court records show that Lebron holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
