The WWE Night of Champions is set to take place on June 28, 2025, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. With less than three weeks to go, Triple H and his team are working hard to build a strong match card and create engaging promos leading up to the event. However, this week’s episode of RAW saw the promotion making three significant mistakes that could impact the success of the premium live event.

Firstly, WWE made a blunder by spoiling Asuka’s return. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the comeback of The Empress of Tomorrow since her last match at the 2024 Backlash. However, a video package of Asuka was prematurely shown on RAW, revealing her return to next week’s Monday Night Show and participation in the Queen of the Ring Tournament. This early reveal could potentially dampen the impact of her return, as surprises and comebacks often generate a significant amount of excitement among fans.

Secondly, the decision to pit CM Punk against John Cena at Night of Champions has raised eyebrows. The sudden challenge from CM Punk to John Cena for the Undisputed Championship was unexpected, especially given the limited time to build up the feud before the event. Additionally, CM Punk’s past criticisms of WWE’s deal with Saudi Arabia and the significance of a match of this caliber warranting a bigger platform like SummerSlam for proper hype and buildup are valid concerns.

Lastly, WWE’s failure to grant Cody Rhodes a title shot despite his recent return and victory at Money in the Bank has puzzled fans. Cody’s momentum and ongoing feud with John Cena could suffer due to this decision, as he was overlooked in favor of CM Punk for the title opportunity. It remains to be seen how this development will affect the storyline leading up to Night of Champions.

As the countdown to Night of Champions continues, WWE will need to address these mistakes and work on building compelling storylines and matchups to ensure a successful event. With the clock ticking, Triple H and his team will need to navigate these challenges and deliver an unforgettable night of action in Saudi Arabia.
