For those not particularly interested in foldable phones, the Pro Fold might not be the ideal choice. Interestingly, it’s the standard Pixel 11 that draws my attention the most.
Here are three reasons why I consider it the standout option.
Not a HiLight
Let’s start with a potentially contentious point.
During the early leaks of the Pixel 11 series, there was much buzz about the anticipated ‘Pixel Glow’ lights on the back. Many wondered if a customizable, glowing LED ring around the camera, as Gemini envisioned, would become a reality.
The answer is a clear no. It’s not even called Pixel Glow! The feature, named ‘HiLight,’ falls short of expectations. It appears to be a less impressive version of the ‘Glyph’ lights found on Nothing phones, offering various patterns based on who’s calling or if Gemini is engaged in an activity.
For now, that’s the extent of it. Google has promised that more features will be added to HiLight “over time,” but at its debut, it seems disappointingly basic.
