Police in Chicago have made another arrest in connection with a robbery that took place on the Red Line. Marvell Colone, a 19-year-old suspect, was taken into custody at his family’s home in Bronzeville after his mother reported him to the authorities. Colone is accused of being one of five individuals who robbed a 19-year-old woman on the 69th Street Red Line platform on September 28.

During the incident, one of the juveniles involved allegedly pointed a firearm at the woman while Colone and the others demanded her belongings. Colone reportedly took the woman’s phone, while the other suspects took her bookbag and wallet. Following the robbery, Chicago Mass Transit detectives released CTA surveillance images of the suspects, leading to the arrest of the juveniles on separate dates in October.

Upon his arrest, Colone was charged with one count of armed robbery. He appeared in court, where Judge Deidre Dyer granted the state’s detention petition, keeping him in jail pending trial. The investigation into the robbery is ongoing, with two additional suspects still at large.

The decision to release the surveillance photos of the suspects has proven to be beneficial, as it has led to multiple arrests in connection with the crime. The police are urging anyone with information on the remaining suspects to come forward and assist with the investigation.

This development underscores the importance of public safety reporting and the collaboration between law enforcement and the community. The efforts of the Chicago Police Department and Mass Transit detectives have resulted in progress in the case, bringing some closure to the victim of the robbery.

As the investigation continues, authorities are working diligently to ensure that all individuals involved in the crime are brought to justice. The arrest of Marvell Colone serves as a step forward in holding those responsible for the robbery accountable for their actions.
