WWE fans were hit with some surprising news recently, as John Cena announced his retirement from wrestling by the end of the year. The 17-time World Champion revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that he is ready to hang up his wrestling boots and move on from professional wrestling. Cena, known as The Leader of the Cenation, stated that his retirement is not a work and that he is serious about stepping away from the ring.

“I still look good, I still feel good, I still feel like I can perform at a WWE level, but I also think it’s time for me to step aside and let the young talent step forward,” Cena said in the interview. He emphasized the importance of giving young talent the opportunity to shine once he exits the wrestling scene.

As Cena’s retirement tour progresses, he has confirmed that his last match will take place in December 2025. The wrestling legend expressed his gratitude for the support from fans as he embarks on this final chapter of his career.

On the wrestling front, Cena’s upcoming opponent for WWE SummerSlam will be revealed at Night of Champions 2025. Following his victory at WrestleMania 41 and successful title defense against Randy Orton, Cena will face CM Punk in the upcoming event. Meanwhile, a showdown between Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes in the King of the Ring finals will determine the next challenger for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

As Cena prepares to bid farewell to wrestling, fans can expect an electrifying conclusion to his storied career. Stay tuned for more updates on Cena’s retirement journey and the future of WWE.
