The highly anticipated true crime program “48 Hours” is set to launch a groundbreaking weekly video podcast that will provide real-time coverage of the Bryan Kohberger murder trial. Hosted by renowned correspondent Peter Van Sant, the podcast titled “Inside the Bryan Kohberger Trial: The Idaho Student Murders” is scheduled to debut on July 26th. The show will kick off with three background episodes leading up to the trial, followed by weekly episodes that will delve into the courtroom proceedings, offering exclusive reporting and expert analysis. Audiences can tune in to the podcast on various streaming services including Pluto TV and YouTube.

The Bryan Kohberger trial revolves around the tragic stabbings of University of Idaho students Kaylee Goncalves, Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle, and Madison Mogen at their off-campus housing in Moscow, Idaho in November 2022. Kohberger stands accused of the heinous murders.

Peter Van Sant, who has been closely following the case since its inception, expressed his deep connection to the tragedy. Having attended nearby Washington State University for four years, Van Sant considers Moscow, Idaho, as a second home. In a statement, he shared, “These horrific murders have shaken me to the core. I have followed this tragedy from the beginning, soaking in every twist and turn—every new detail which has emerged.” Working alongside his ’48 Hours’ team, Van Sant promises never-before-heard content from the families of the victims, along with insights from top criminal and legal experts.

“Inside the Bryan Kohberger Trial: The Idaho Student Murders” marks a significant milestone for “48 Hours” as it ventures into covering a murder trial in both video and audio formats in real-time. Earlier this year, the show also introduced “Post Mortem” on various platforms, further expanding its reach and impact.
