As reported by Radar Online, Knight’s weight peaked at over 300 pounds. Following a serious health warning from a cardiologist regarding the potential risks of diabetes, heart disease, and strokes, he resolved to undertake significant changes in his lifestyle.
A source close to Knight revealed, “That served as the ultimate wake-up call.”
Reflecting on his lifelong struggle with overeating, Knight humorously stated, “I used to get a tan from the refrigerator light.” However, during the filming of a scene for Seinfeld, he confronted the reality of his health issues.
Knight recounted: “While being chased by a farmer for getting involved with his daughter, as I ran through a cornfield with my pants down, I suddenly found myself out of breath.”

Wayne Knight’s Transformative Lifestyle
The actor is dedicated to maintaining his new health-conscious lifestyle following his significant transformation.
“This experience frightened me into taking action,” Knight revealed. He chose to partner with fitness expert Marc Vahanian to overhaul his routine.
Now, the slimmer star commits to 20-minute workout sessions at least twice a week at a Los Angeles gym and utilizes a gourmet meal delivery service to regulate his daily caloric intake to around 1,500 calories. Currently, he weighs under 200 pounds.
Interestingly, Knight mentioned his weight loss has had a negative impact on his acting opportunities. “It takes time for people to adjust to my new appearance and to evaluate my capabilities beyond my size,” he said.
Regardless, he is content with what he has achieved: “This is the reality of my life now; I have to embrace my authentic self beyond my past.”

Knight has noted that people often display surprise upon seeing his dramatic transformation. He recalled that he was frequently typecast as “the fat guy,” with his heaviest weight of 327 pounds recorded during the filming of Jurassic Park.
“With the aid of my cardiologist, my trainer, my psychiatrist, and my support group, I have redefined my relationships with food,” he stated in a 2004 interview.
He emphasized that the most significant change was not merely physical but also mental. “I used to eat for reasons other than hunger—it was an addiction,” he shared. “Acknowledging this behavior helped me turn a corner in my life.”
