As the Mobile Editor for Tech Advisor, I frequently test a wide range of smartphones year after year.

Generally, this experience is enjoyable, thanks to the improvements in modern smartphones. However, one recurring issue is the disparity in charging speeds.

While many manufacturers from China have embraced genuine fast charging technology, Google’s Pixel series often lags behind. The Pixel 9 Pro XL, for instance, offers charging speeds of only 37W, making it the fastest-charging Pixel model up to that point.

In the latest iterations, Google has increased the charging capability to 45W in the Pixel 10 Pro XL. However, not every USB-C charger can deliver this rate, making it essential for buyers to understand compatibility.

After many attempts with various USB-C chargers, I was disappointed to find that even with a 65W charger, my Pixel 10 Pro XL often charged slower than expected. To reach the desirable 45W, it is necessary to have a charger equipped with PPS (Programmable Power Supply), which typically means purchasing a new charger.

You might consider Google’s standard 45W charger, priced at £29.99/$29.99. However, if you want to charge two devices at the same time, you might want to explore other options.

This brings us to the Pixel Flex Dual Port 67W USB-C Fast Charger. Despite its cumbersome name, this charger stands out for its ability to fast charge two devices simultaneously. But is it worth the price tag of £54.99/$54.99?

Initially skeptical, I have become a firm believer after using this charger regularly for a couple of weeks. If you ever find yourself needing to charge multiple USB-C devices at once, this charger is absolutely worth the investment.

Google’s Definition of Fast Charging

While Google promotes the Pixel 10 Pro XL as supporting ‘fast charging’, I wouldn’t classify 45W as exceptionally quick. Nevertheless, it’s sufficient to make sure that slow charging doesn’t remain a weak point, as long as you have the right charger.

Thanks to the Flex Dual Port, I’ve been consistently achieving the advertised claims of reaching 70% battery in just 30 minutes.

The Flex Dual Port allows for dual device connections, enhancing its utility.

I prefer not to leave my phone charging overnight; instead, I opt for quick recharges as I prepare for my day. Generally, I find that reconnecting my 10 Pro XL plugs it in enough to ensure a full charge within an hour, taking into account that speeds naturally slow as it nears full capacity.

The flexibility of the Flex Dual Port is especially noteworthy, as it supports simultaneous charging for two devices. The total output of 67.5W is shared, but Pixel devices receive priority charging, allowing my Pro XL to maintain 45W even while the Galaxy S25 FE linked alongside it charges at a maximum of 22.5W. Though this isn’t a significant issue for me, it’s something to keep in mind.

Beyond Google devices, the Flex Dual Port charger effectively powers any USB-C device. When using it with the S25 FE, the device recognized it as ‘super fast charging,’ which I found surprising but confirmed the speeds aligned with the expected performance of a 45W charger.

The Perfect On-the-Go Charger

A quick note about the design of the Flex Dual Port charger: while you may not typically admire a power brick, Google’s minimalist approach ensures functionality.

Its compact size resonates well—for instance, dimensions of just 34mm x 50.3mm x 65mm means it can fit in nearly any bag or even a pocket if that’s necessary.

Weighing only 164g makes it light enough to carry without any inconvenience. It feels robust rather than flimsy, giving me confidence in its durability over years and countless charging sessions.

I trust this charger to endure many years and thousands of charging cycles.

The Flex Dual Port excels in its combination of build quality, versatility, and charging performance, making it an outstanding accessory, no matter whether you own a Pixel device.

While you may hesitate to spend this much on a charger, remember that its frequent usage justifies the quality investment.
