White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has announced that the administration is actively reviewing the controversial decision made by the Kentucky parole board regarding Ronald Exantus, the individual responsible for the tragic stabbing death of 6-year-old Logan Tipton in 2015.

This devastating crime unfolded on December 7, 2015, in Versailles, Kentucky. Ronald Exantus, then 38, intruded into the Tipton family home in the dead of night, where he inflicted a brutal attack with a butcher knife he found inside.

With no prior connection to the family, Exantus unleashed his fury randomly, attacking the sleeping residents. The horrifying scene unfolded as Logan was murdered in his bed, while his sister, Dakota, then just 12 years old, witnessed the indescribable terror. She endured her own assault as Exantus attacked, leaving her with searing memories of that night.

In her accounts, Dakota recounted the chilling moment she realized her brother was being killed, feeling Exantus’s violence as he stabbed her in the back and threw her around the room.

During the chaos, Logan’s father, Dean Tipton, attempted to intervene but was also brutally attacked, suffering stab wounds before being thrown across the room.

Exantus’s threatening words to Dakota during the assault—expressing his intent to kill each family member—added a layer of horror to the incident. Following the atrocity, law enforcement apprehended Exantus at the scene.

In 2018, following a trial that perplexed many, the jury reached a verdict of not guilty for murder by reason of insanity, though he was convicted on multiple assault charges involving both Dean and Dakota. His sentence totaled 20 years in prison.

Yet, due to a combination of good behavior, educational credits, and time served, Exantus was paroled and released on October 1, after serving just eight years—substantially less than half of his sentence.

Now, Exantus is free, a situation that Leavitt finds “wholly unacceptable,” as stated in her post on X. She emphasized the severity of the situation, noting the deep implications of allowing a convicted child killer to walk free after such a brief imprisonment.

I can confirm the White House is looking into this. It’s wholly unacceptable for a child killer to walk free after just several years in prison. https://t.co/pOjKxvmrZV

As previously reported by The Gateway Pundit, Dean Tipton has openly declared his willingness to take drastic measures against Exantus should they ever cross paths again. He articulated the constant vigilance he must now maintain to protect his family:

“He told [Dakota] that he was going to kill every one of us. So now I’ve gotta be on extra guard to protect my kids because I will not lose another one. I’ve had my talks with God cause I’m not afraid to tell you all, I told the court—if I ever cross paths with him, I will kill the man. I will kill him where he stands.”

The whereabouts of Exantus remain undisclosed, although the Kentucky Online Offender Lookup verifies his release status.
