Meghan Markle made a subtle return to the fashion scene by attending her first Fashion Week in several years, enjoying a prominent front-row position at Balenciaga’s show on Saturday, October 4, in Paris.
A representative for Meghan, 44, shared with Hello! that the Duchess of Sussex was present to show her support for Pierpaolo Piccioli, who has recently taken on the role of Creative Director for the brand.
The spokesperson noted, âThroughout the years, the Duchess has sported various creations designed by Pierpaolo. They have collaborated closely on designs for significant moments on the global stage.â The representative further emphasized her appreciation for his artistry and contemporary style, stating, “She has long admired his craftsmanship and modern elegance, and tonight was no exception.”
Meghan wore a stylish, winter-white pantsuit paired with a matching cape. This ensemble was accented by classic black pumps, and her hair was elegantly styled in a slicked-back bun.
“This evening symbolizes years of artistry and camaraderie, underscoring her support for his new creative journey at Balenciaga,” her representative remarked.
The founder of As Ever offered a glimpse of her outfit in a Saturday post shared on her Instagram Stories, as she strolled through a marble corridor. Meghan set her post to Vitaa and Julian DorĂ©âs catchy tune, âViens on essaie.â
This show marked Piccioliâs inaugural presentation as Balenciaga’s creative director, having formerly worked with Valentino and assumed his new role this past summer.

Piccioli stated, âThis is a new era for fashion, and true change can only come from within. I aim to present a fresh perspective on fashion that embodies boldness, authenticity, and intelligenceâqualities that often go unnoticed.â He expressed his desire to weave his narrative into Balenciagaâs existing legacy, honoring the contributions of previous designers like Nicolas [GhesquiĂšre] and Demna.
While this marked Meghan’s first attendance at a Paris Fashion Week runway show, she had frequented Toronto and New York Fashion Weeks during her acting career. Meghan has since taken a step back from acting following her marriage to Prince Harry in 2018.
After stepping back from royal duties, Meghan and Harry, 41, relocated from England to California in 2020. Since then, Meghan has been reshaping her fashion narrative.
âIn moments of heightened global attention, I consciously choose to wear designers with whom I share strong ties,â Meghan revealed in an August 2024 profile to The New York Times, emphasizing her commitment to backing lesser-known brands âthat deserve greater recognition.â
âItâs one of the most impactful things I can do, even if it’s as simple as wearing a piece of jewelry,â she shared.
Meghan also noted that she frequently discovers new designers through her own online shopping ventures.
âI dedicate a lot of time to searching for brands online,â she explained. âAs people are browsing the internet, I’m on the lookout for innovative designers, specifically from a variety of regions.â
