Currently on display at SVA Chelsea Gallery until December 6, this exhibition highlights the incredible variety found within the school’s alumni community.

The School of Visual Arts (SVA) is proud to showcase Wavelengths, an exhibition featuring a juried selection of works from recent graduates, chosen by a distinguished panel of alumni experts in their fields. 

This exhibition spans diverse materials and concepts, focusing on process-oriented practices and the joy of creation even through challenges. From traditional drawing and painting to sculpture and innovative mixed media, the showcased artworks represent the richness of SVA’s vibrant alumni community, reflecting artists who are evolving their practices and adapting to new experiences. 

Wavelengths is available for viewing at SVA Chelsea Gallery (601 West 26th Street, 15th floor) until December 6, 2025.

Featured Artists

Artists include Gabrielle Benak (BFA 2019, Fine Arts), Alex Cassetti (BFA 2016, Photography and Video), Sophy Chang (BFA 2019, Fine Arts), Jeong Hur (MFA 2020, Photography, Video, and Related Media), Ray Hwang (BFA 2016, Illustration), Ivy Johnson (BFA 2018, Illustration), Georgia Lale (MFA 2016, Fine Arts), Jing Lin (MFA 2018, Photography, Video, and Related Media), Victor Liu (MFA 2014, Art Practice), ShinYeon Moon (MFA 2017, Illustration as Visual Essay), Vanessa Powers (BFA 2013, Fine Arts), Francena Poyo-Ottley (BFA 2019, Photography and Video), Paul Rho (BFA 2019, Photography and Video), Carra Seals (MFA 2020, Fine Arts), and Christine L Stiver (MFA 2017, Art Practice).

Exhibition Events

On November 11 from 6 to 7 PM, SVA will organize an Artist Career Roundtable at the gallery. This event will feature exhibiting artists Gabrielle Benak, Alex Cassetti, Vanessa Powers, and Carra Seals, moderated by SVA faculty member Dr. Sohee Koo, and is free for the public to attend.
