The Daily Caller has the details:
Political commentator Mark Halperin, during his appearance on “The Morning Meeting” last Friday, branded Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries as his “losers of the week” amidst the persistent government shutdown.
Despite an effort to forge a short-term spending agreement with former President Donald Trump in the Oval Office, Schumer and Jeffries left without any resolution. Halperin’s analysis highlighted the lack of faith not only from the media but also from Democrats themselves regarding their leadership.
“In my career, I’ve rarely seen two leaders so thoroughly disregarded, not just by the media—which typically has a soft spot for Democrats—but also by the very members of the Democratic Party in both the House and Senate,” Halperin noted. “There’s a palpable frustration; members are expressing despair at the apparent lack of direction, feeling as if they’ve been left to fend for themselves without effective leadership during this crisis.”
“Such attitudes among senior Democrats—including both parties—are unprecedented,” he remarked.

This ongoing shutdown spell is poised to backfire spectacularly on Schumer and his Democratic allies.
Schumer Shutdown Rumor
Amidst the chaos, whispers circulate that Democrats are effectively holding the country hostage in a bid to shield Schumer from a potential primary challenge by AOC.
Insiders suggest that “Russ the Reaper” plans to trim government size by 10%, reverting it back to pre-Biden levels reminiscent of 2019, just past the day 66 mark.

It seems Schumer is employing a strategy that’s at least a decade old, while Jeffries’ performance as Minority House Leader leaves much to be desired.
Ultimately, they are likely to find themselves on the losing side of this standoff.
