Harrison Ford Finds Joy in Acting at 82

At the age of 82, Harrison Ford continues to find fulfillment in his acting career, citing it as a source of “essential human contact.” In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Ford expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to work with talented individuals in the industry, stating, “I get to imagine with people that have great skill and experience… It’s fun to work with these people.”

Despite his iconic roles as Han Solo and Indiana Jones, Ford is now starring in the Apple TV+ series “Shrinking” alongside Jason Segel and Jessica Williams. In the show, Ford plays Dr. Paul Rhoades, a senior therapist at the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Center.

Reflecting on his approach to playing Han Solo, Ford shared, “He was a character that was committed to his ignorance… But if he had been lacking in a sense of humor, it would not have been fun for the audience.” He emphasized the importance of physical acting in conveying character information and humor.

While known for his roles in action thrillers, Ford considers much of his work to be comedic in nature. He jokingly stated, “I’m a silly person. As far as I’m concerned, everything I’ve ever done is comedy.”

“Shrinking” co-creator Bill Lawrence praised Ford’s commitment to the role, noting how the actor embraced comedic elements in the show. One example highlighted was Ford’s character’s misunderstanding of the term “raw-dogging,” which led to humorous moments on set.

Looking ahead, “Shrinking” is set to return for its second season on Apple TV+ on Wednesday, promising more laughs and heartwarming moments from Harrison Ford and the talented cast.
