The Disney+ trailer unveiling both projects features Taylor being escorted onto the stage in a shimmering gown for the “Enchanted” scene. “People love to discuss phenomena,” she narrates. “As if everything just fell into place, as if it occurred effortlessly.” The montage includes glimpses of rehearsal moments; Swift sharing leisure time with her mother and her now-fiancé, Travis Kelce, backstage; boards displaying song titles; intense workout sessions; costume changes; and nostalgic clips of her as a child playing piano with her grandmother, along with appearances by her cats, Sabrina Carpenter, Ed Sheeran, Florence Welch, and Gracie Abrams. “With this tour, we’ve shattered every single record imaginable,” she adds. “The only thing remaining is to bring this chapter to a close.”
In a fitting conclusion, the trailer shows Taylor preparing for a soak in the tub. “I won’t be able to sleep,” she shares with the camera, while removing her makeup and taking off her false eyelashes. “I can’t unwind. I binge-watch TV, order room service to my bed, sign thousands of CDs, and then I’m exhausted. Then we start all over again.” This kind of reflection after the whirlwind is, naturally, what inspired The Life of a Showgirl—and it’s the reason Swift is depicted in a bathtub on this album’s cover.
The Final Show was directed by Glenn Weiss and filmed in Vancouver, while The End of an Era was directed by Don Argott, with Sheena M. Joyce assisting. The former will be available for streaming starting December 12, alongside the first two episodes of the latter. Following this, two episodes of the show will be released weekly, culminating on December 26. (And of course, Taylor made this announcement on October 13.)
