Residents in Chicago’s North Side are on alert due to a string of home burglaries. An unidentified individual has been reportedly entering homes through back doors or windows to steal valuables, primarily jewelry and electronics.
According to a community notice from the Chicago Police Department (CPD), these incidents have taken place in areas such as North Center, Lincoln Square, and Ravenswood over the last fortnight.
Authorities suspect that a single perpetrator may be linked to at least five burglary incidents, all occurring during the day while residents were not at home:
- 4600 block of North Rockwell Street on October 2, 2025, between 2:05 and 3:20 p.m.
- 4600 block of North Campbell Avenue on October 3, 2025, around 3:00 p.m.
- 3700 block of North Hoyne Avenue on October 8, 2025, from 8:35 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.
- 3800 block of North Seeley Avenue on October 8, 2025, between 7:40 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
- 3700 block of North Leavitt Street on October 8, 2025, from 1:30 to 3:15 p.m.
CPD reports that the burglar typically gains access through rear entry points, often using force to pry them open. Upon entering, the suspect rummages through closets and drawers for items of value. The individual is described as a slim Black male aged between 25 and 35 years.

CWBChicago was founded in 2013 by a collective of five local residents from Wrigleyville and Boystown frustrated with the inaccuracies prevalent in local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings.
Since its inception, our coverage scope has broadened to include Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and additional neighborhoods on the North Side. Nevertheless, our core mission remains intact: to deliver original public safety news with enhanced context and details that surpass that of mainstream media outlets.
