“Teen Mom” star Cory Wharton is overjoyed after his daughter’s successful heart surgery, and he shares his newfound perspective with TMZ during a recent interview.
Cory’s 3-year-old daughter Maya, whom he shares with Taylor Selfridge, recently underwent a successful heart surgery at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles after a two-week stay. The family received positive news that Maya is going to be okay.
Cory shares, “We were aware during my girlfriend’s pregnancy that Maya would need two open-heart surgeries, and we made it through. We finally made it through.”
Maya was diagnosed with tricuspid atresia, a rare and serious congenital heart defect. Despite the challenges, Cory emphasizes that maintaining perspective was crucial in navigating through the difficult times.
“I am grateful that we could leave the Children’s Hospital, knowing that there are families who may not have the same outcome. Some families wait years for a heart transplant,” Cory reflects.
Cory adds, “Witnessing the resilience of individuals in the hospital who manage to find joy even in their darkest moments was truly inspiring.”
Now motivated to give back, Cory expresses his desire to support Children’s Hospital and children in need. He aims to utilize his platform for positive impact beyond his MTV stardom.
Cory recently spread joy at the unveiling of a 2,518-pound giant Jack-O’-Lantern in the Madame Tussauds courtyard. The star-studded event in Hollywood was hosted by Raising Cane’s owner and founder Todd Graves.
