Pete Davidson surprised fans with his return to “Saturday Night Live” in a recent episode, where he delivered a hilarious and candid Weekend Update segment. The segment covered a range of topics, including Zohran Mamdani’s election win in New York, Davidson’s controversial performance at the Riyadh Comedy Festival, and some playful jabs at his former boss, Lorne Michaels.

During his appearance, Davidson humorously referenced Michaels’ lesson of never giving up, even in the face of challenges. He also touched on a joint venture with Colin Jost to transform a ferry into an upscale entertainment venue, which was recently criticized in a New York Times article as a “money-losing fiasco.”

Addressing the criticism of his decision to perform in Saudi Arabia due to financial reasons, Davidson joked about the ferry’s losses and his impending fatherhood. He expressed excitement about becoming a dad and redirecting his energy towards his growing family.

The comedian didn’t shy away from poking fun at Staten Island residents who voted against mayor-elect Mamdani, particularly those who threatened to leave New York but faced obstacles. Davidson humorously renamed the ferry as “New Staten Island” and playfully teased the borough’s reaction to the election results.

Having been a cast member on “SNL” for eight seasons, from 2014 to 2022, Davidson’s return to the show brought laughter and entertainment to viewers once again. His witty commentary and self-deprecating humor continue to resonate with audiences, making him a beloved figure on the comedy scene.

Overall, Davidson’s unexpected appearance on “Saturday Night Live” showcased his comedic talent and ability to address current events with a unique and humorous perspective. Fans can look forward to more memorable moments from this talented comedian in the future.
