Google might finally address one of the most annoying Pixel phone features

Google might finally address one of the most annoying Pixel phone features

Google Pixel smartphones have garnered a loyal following among tech enthusiasts, but one persistent gripe remains – the inability to remove the At a Glance widget from the main Home Screen. This multi-functional widget, while useful to some, takes up valuable screen real estate and lacks the option for customization.

However, recent developments suggest that Google may be addressing this issue. In a pre-release build of the Android OS, Android Authority has discovered a new “Show on home screen” toggle within the At a Glance settings. This toggle hints at a future update where users will have the freedom to remove the widget from their Home Screen.

This potential change is significant for Pixel users who have long requested the ability to customize their Home Screen more extensively. While the widget may still be present on the lock screen, the option to remove it from the Home Screen marks a step towards greater user control and personalization.

The At a Glance widget has been a staple of Pixel smartphones for years, but its static presence has often clashed with Android’s reputation for customization. With the upcoming update, users may finally see their requests for a more flexible Home Screen layout fulfilled.
