Nate Bargatze’s Nashville Amusement Park Dream Takes a Step Forward
Nate Bargatze’s vision of an amusement park in Nashville is inching closer to reality, with his company Nateland teaming up with design firm Storyland Studios to explore the concept and feasibility of the attraction.
The planned theme park, spanning over 100 acres, is currently scouting potential locations in and around Nashville. In addition to thrilling rides, the project also envisions incorporating essential amenities such as retail outlets, dining options, and potentially even a hotel. The feasibility study is slated for completion in the first quarter of 2026, after which Bargatze will focus on securing investments for the park.
“Nate and Nateland are dedicated to providing wholesome and family-friendly entertainment,” stated Felix Verdigets, CEO of Nateland Entertainment. “As residents of middle Tennessee, we understand the need for a major attraction that caters to individuals of all ages in the Nashville area. We are eager to see the results of our collaboration with Storyland Studios.”
The partnership between Nateland and Storyland was officially announced at the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions Expo. This collaboration brings together Bargatze’s entertainment company with the renowned design firm responsible for the immersive Legoland Hotel and sections of popular theme parks like Knott’s Berry Farm and California’s Great Adventure.
“This project has been a long time in the making, and we are thrilled to announce our joint venture with Nate, Felix, and the entire Nateland team,” expressed Mel McGowan, founder and chief creative officer of Storyland Studios. “Our aim is to create a top-tier themed entertainment experience right in Music City that captures the unique humor and charm of Nateland, while also delivering a world-class destination for families.”
Bargatze, coming off the success of the highest-grossing comedy tour of 2024, has long harbored the dream of establishing an amusement park in his hometown of Nashville. In a May interview with Esquire magazine, he hinted at the project’s progress, stating, “I bet we’re closer than people think. But it’s still a little bit of a ways off.” Additionally, Nateland’s Experiences division is gearing up for a comedy cruise called Nateland at Sea scheduled for February.
Aside from his amusement park endeavor, Bargatze recently took on hosting duties at the Emmys and is currently in pre-production for his comedy film “The Breadwinner,” set to be released by Sony in March.
