Christina Ricci took to Instagram to denounce Kelly as a “danger to children,” while the hashtag “#iWasFifteen” began trending on social media as women shared their own experiences of inappropriate behavior at a young age. Gilbert participated in the movement by posting photos from her time on “Little House on the Prairie” at 15, emphasizing that she was just a child at the time.
In her Instagram post, Gilbert expressed her disgust at Kelly’s remarks and highlighted the support she received from her mother and colleagues on set, including Michael Landon. She emphasized the importance of having a safe environment for young actors and urged Kelly to choose her words more carefully.
This is not the first time Gilbert has clashed with Kelly. Earlier in the year, she responded to Kelly’s criticism of Netflix’s planned remake of “Little House on the Prairie,” defending the original series for addressing important social issues. Gilbert challenged Kelly to revisit the show and recognize its progressive themes.
The upcoming “Little House on the Prairie” reboot on Netflix, helmed by showrunner Rebecca Sonnenshine, does not have a confirmed release date yet.
