New York Woman Arrested for Hoarding 200 Animals in Filthy Hell House

Authorities in Suffolk County recently responded to a call regarding a woman named Boyd who was allegedly hoarding animals at her Northport home. Shockingly, Boyd’s residence is a certified wildlife rehab center, making the situation even more disturbing.

Upon arrival, law enforcement officers discovered a trash-filled house overflowing with a wide variety of animals, including dogs, cats, squirrels, ducks, pigeons, quail, rabbits, crows, starlings, geese, chipmunks, doves, chickens, hamsters, ferrets, guinea pigs, hedgehogs, voles, flying squirrels, parakeets, parrots, cockatoos, chinchillas, tortoises, and even turkeys. The sheer number and variety of species found in the home were staggering.

Many of the animals were living in overcrowded cages that were covered in waste and filth, with unsanitary food and water sources. The conditions in which these creatures were kept were deplorable, to say the least.

Furthermore, authorities also noted that the house was infested with spiders, insects, and other pests, creating an even more hazardous environment for both the animals and any human occupants. In fact, Boyd’s own mother was reportedly “confined” to a second-floor room, trapped by the mountains of debris that had accumulated throughout the home.

The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office has since arrested Boyd on charges related to animal cruelty and hoarding. The case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of responsible animal ownership and the consequences of neglecting the welfare of innocent creatures.
