Chicago Police Seek Public’s Help in Identifying Red Line Train Attack Suspects
Chicago police have released surveillance images of three individuals believed to be responsible for a violent attack and robbery on a Red Line train at the 47th Street station on Thanksgiving morning. The authorities are urging the public to come forward with any information that could lead to the identification of the suspects.
The incident took place at approximately 11:24 a.m. on Thursday as the train was approaching the 47th Street station. The group of individuals boarded the train and confronted a 48-year-old man, demanding his belongings. One of the suspects brandished a knife, leading to a struggle that resulted in the victim sustaining a stab wound to his back. The attackers then fled the scene with the victim’s property.
The victim was promptly transported to the University of Chicago Hospital, where he is reported to be in good condition, according to the Chicago Police Department.
Following the incident, authorities were able to recover surveillance footage capturing the suspects as they navigated through the station. The images reveal:
- A Black female wearing a pink bonnet, gray shirt, black hooded jacket, and black pants.
- A Black male wearing a tan jacket and light-colored jeans.
- A Black male wearing a red and gray hooded sweater.
The suspects quickly exited the train and were last seen heading east on 47th Street after departing the station.
