The Art Dealers Association of America (ADAA) recently made headlines with the announcement of a new fair set to launch in November 2026. This exciting development comes on the heels of the organization’s decision to cancel this year’s edition of its long-standing Art Show, which traditionally supported the Henry Street Settlement in Manhattan.

The new ADAA Fair is scheduled to take place from November 12 through November 16 at the iconic Park Avenue Armory in New York City, marking a return to the organization’s familiar venue. This event will replace the Art Show, which previously provided crucial unrestricted funds to the Henry Street Settlement. In response to the cancellation of this partnership, the nonprofit launched its own fundraising efforts to make up for the approximately $1 million in lost funds. Fortunately, a new partnership with the Independent Art Fair in October has helped to alleviate some of the financial strain.

Described as an event “centered on championing the visual arts and the institutions that sustain them,” the ADAA Fair aims to showcase the work of the ADAA Foundation. This foundation is responsible for providing grants to arts organizations for exhibitions and art historical research. In the past, recipients of these awards have included institutions like the DuSable Black History Museum and Education Center in Chicago and the Neuberger Museum of Art in Purchase, New York.

With approximately 200 members spread across 40 cities, the ADAA is a prestigious organization that offers participation in its annual art fair as a benefit of membership. The new fair presents an opportunity to not only highlight the exceptional work of member galleries but also to deepen support for museums and cultural organizations nationwide.

Mary Ryan, Chair of the ADAA Fair committee, expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming event, stating, “Our new fair provides an opportunity to highlight the extraordinary work of our member galleries while deepening our support for museums and cultural organizations nationwide.” The ADAA’s commitment to promoting the arts and fostering collaboration within the industry remains steadfast, setting the stage for a successful and impactful fair in 2026.
