Renewed Overall Deal for the Kings at CBS Studios
It’s (still) good to be the Kings.
Robert and Michelle King have extended their partnership with CBS Studios, the creative hub where they have been based for almost two decades. The Kings, along with their production company King Size Productions, will continue to develop and produce content for both streaming platforms and traditional broadcast television. As part of the deal, Robert will also take on directing responsibilities. Liz Glotzer, the president of King Size Productions, will serve as executive producer on all their upcoming projects.
David Stapf, the president of CBS Studios, praised the Kings for their remarkable contributions to the network over the past 15 years. He commended their ability to craft intelligent, thought-provoking series that push the boundaries of television storytelling. Stapf expressed his excitement about continuing to collaborate with the Kings and eagerly anticipated the innovative projects they will bring to audiences in the future.
Despite recent changes following the Paramount-Skydance merger, CBS Studios’ decision to retain the Kings reaffirms their confidence in the duo’s track record of delivering successful shows that resonate with viewers and critics alike.
The Kings are currently behind the CBS series “Elsbeth,” now in its third season, and are gearing up for the premiere of the legal drama “Cupertino” starring Mike Colter in the upcoming broadcast season. Additionally, they have a project titled “Vatican City” in development at Hulu.
In a statement, the Kings expressed their enthusiasm for continuing their collaboration with CBS Studios and welcomed the opportunity to work with the new team at Paramount+. They highlighted the importance of having creative partners who trust and support their vision, enabling them to explore new storytelling avenues.
Among the Kings’ notable series are “The Good Wife,” “Braindead,” “The Good Fight,” “Evil,” and “Happy Face.” They also have the drama “Your Honor” airing on Showtime. The Kings are represented by UTA and Del Shaw Moonves.
