Samsung has recently announced an exciting new beta program that allows Samsung Galaxy S25 owners to experience the upcoming One UI 8.5 update before its official release. This beta program gives users a sneak peek into the features and improvements that One UI 8.5 has to offer.

One UI 8.5 is more than just a minor update over its predecessor, One UI 8. Samsung describes it as a fundamental rethink of how users interact with their devices, aiming to streamline the user experience and make navigation more intuitive. The update is set to debut alongside the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S26 in January, but beta testers can get an early look at the changes.

One of the standout features of One UI 8.5 is Photo Assist 2.0, which allows users to perform multiple types of photo edits in a single session without the need to save progress at every step. Quick Share has also been enhanced to recognize faces in images and provide sharing recommendations based on the people detected. Additionally, Audio Broadcast enables users to communicate with multiple Bluetooth devices simultaneously.

Storage Share is another notable addition to One UI 8.5, offering a unified storage system that allows users to access files from their tablets and PCs directly on their phones. The update also includes a more secure and granular identity verification system, enhancing overall security and privacy.

For those interested in trying out the One UI 8.5 beta, access to the program opened on December 8th. The beta is currently available to Samsung Galaxy S25-series owners in select territories, including the UK, US, Germany, Korea, India, and Poland. To participate in the beta program, users can download the update through the Samsung Members app by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download.

Beta testers can get an early look at these changes and provide feedback to help refine the update before its official release alongside the Samsung Galaxy S26.
