The Dallas Cowboys and their owner Jerry Jones are facing a tough reality after their recent loss to the Minnesota Vikings. The 34-26 defeat has put their playoff hopes in jeopardy, leaving them with a slim chance of making it to the postseason.

Criticism has been mounting towards the ownership, with fans questioning whether Jones and his son, Stephen Jones, face any real consequences for the team’s repeated failures. However, Stephen Jones defended their position during a radio appearance on ‘105.3 The Fan’ by emphasizing that they are accountable for their actions and decisions.

“We’ve got to continue to work at it. There are consequences because we pay in our own ways,” Stephen said. “Obviously it’s an interesting dynamic in terms of the fact that we own the team and we’re involved, but we think overall that’s been a good thing.”

The Cowboys now find themselves at 6-7-1 and in a precarious position as they head into the final stretch of the season. For them to have any chance of making the playoffs, they would need the Philadelphia Eagles to lose all three of their remaining games, including two matchups against the struggling Washington Commanders.

After the disappointing loss to the Vikings, both Jerry Jones and Stephen Jones showed their frustration. Jerry, in particular, was visibly upset and left his suite at AT&T Stadium early to head to the locker room, a rare occurrence for him according to reports.

Stephen Jones also expressed his disappointment, admitting that they did not expect to be in such a difficult position with only three games left in the season. The Cowboys’ playoff hopes now hang by a thread, and they will need to regroup and perform at their best in the remaining games to have any chance of salvaging the season.

The team’s struggles have reignited the debate over the ownership’s accountability and the direction of the franchise. With the pressure mounting, the Cowboys will need to find a way to turn things around quickly if they hope to salvage their season and make a late push for the playoffs.
