Prince William’s impromptu visit to a Windsor pub has sparked a surge in trade, with the future king credited for driving a boom in business after his low-key stopover. The Prince of Wales made a surprise appearance at The Two Brewers in February while filming Apple TV’s “The Reluctant Traveler” with actor Eugene Levy, and the episode airing in October has since turned the pub into a tourist hotspot.
Located near Windsor Castle’s Cambridge Gate, The Two Brewers has long been a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. Owner Stuart O’Brien revealed that William’s visit alongside Levy has drawn in curious customers eager to see where the duo enjoyed a pint. The influx of tourists has led to what locals are calling a “lesser-known Kate effect,” a nod to the boost in business experienced by establishments frequented by the Duchess of Cambridge during royal tours.
O’Brien humorously remarked that the royal visit had boosted business “just a smidge,” but acknowledged the significant impact it has had on foot traffic and revenue. He shared, “A lot of people coming in, a lot of tourists come in because they’ve seen the show.”
Customers now flock to The Two Brewers requesting the exact booth where Prince William and Eugene Levy sat during filming. O’Brien revealed that the table has been unofficially dubbed “The Future King’s Corner,” with plans to upgrade it to “The King’s Corner” in the future. The pub has become a popular destination for royal enthusiasts seeking a glimpse of the spot where the Prince of Wales briefly relaxed over a pint.
A framed image from the filming now hangs above the booth, accompanied by a plaque commemorating William and Levy’s visit on February 4, 2025. Another photograph of the Prince adorns the bar, a memento of his laid-back interaction with staff after filming concluded. O’Brien recalled how approachable and relaxed William was during his visit, even jokingly requesting that a photo of him be displayed “directly in the middle” of the pub’s history blackboard.
The attention generated by Prince William’s visit has not only boosted business but also shed light on the down-to-earth nature of the monarchy. O’Brien praised the royal for his humility, emphasizing that despite their titles, members of the royal family are ultimately human beings with lives of their own. As the pub continues to attract visitors eager to experience a touch of royal charm, O’Brien remains grateful for the unexpected spotlight and the positive impact it has had on his business.
